UNDERWATER FORENSIC INVESTIGATION

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Dr. William Belcher is a forensic anthropologist and archaeologist, but also an environmental archaeologist with a specialty in animal bones from archaeological sites-zooarchaeology working for the University of Nebraska. He specializes in animal bone analysis in archaeology as well as forensic anthropology, where his focus is on taphonomy or decomposition studies and determining time since death. He is very interested in teaching at the Cedar Point campus because he feels that it provides an ideal situation to learn scuba diving with its bodies of water and serene environment for the purpose of teaching underwater forensic investigation.

PRE-REQUISITE:
Completion of diving medical form to be sent to Dr. Belcher (wbelcher2@unl.edu) before course code can be given out.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Students will learn basics of underwater forensic investigation along with the necessary skill of scuba diving.
