Alternative Service Break
ALTERNATIVE SERVICE BREAK
An Alternative Service Break (ASB) is a leadership/volunteer/learning opportunity for college students. The students spend four or five days of their break volunteering for different areas of the world and then get hands-on learning about the area. We are collaborating with the Center for Civic Engagement to create an opportunity for students to see the beauty just west of them in the Nebraska Sandhills in the spring.
These ASBs are a wonderful opportunity for students to add leadership skills and volunteer time to their resume, but do cost the students money. Grants are in the works to make the cost of our ASB much cheaper than a normal one - hopefully about 1/10th of the cost.
