We started a partnership with Art, Art History and Design over 10 years ago. We have a firm belief that there is much artists and scientists have in common if given the opportunity to interact making both art and science better and more effective. This is our effort to see these two professions collide. There are three components to this partnership: our artist in residence program, our art adventure camp, and our art classes.

Artists in Residence

With our artist in residence program, we provide 2 free weeklong stays with us to the awarded artists. The awards are chosen by the art department after the deadline for submission of application takes place. We also reduce the amount of traditional cost for each weeklong stay the for other 8-10 artists. Our goal is to help science and art merge on our campus and continue further in the world.

Art Adventure Camp

Our art adventure camp is put on by this program for Keith County middle school students. It is run by the program coordinator with the help of other art students. We host this program free of charge.

Art Classes

We have had annual college level art classes. These have ranged from photography, to printmaking and booking binding, to watercolor and sculpture. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has put a strain on this portion. The program chair is actively looking for outside funding to get these classes going again.
