Job and Internship Application

Does the idea of working out in beautiful western Nebraska seem like a great way to spend your summer? Keep reading!

We have 3 different work option emphases:

  1. Full-time summer job
    1. work 30-40 hours a week starting in May where the station needs you most
  2. CPWorks opportunity
    1. work 35-40 weeks outside of your scheduled class session - you cannot work during the session which you are taking a class. The classes are too intensive.
    2. we cover your food and housing charge for your class
  3. Internships
    1. work 35-40 hours a week to complete an internship that will count toward your degree
    2. ability to tailor your job to fit your career needs and experience desires

Choosing a path from above does NOT box you into a decision if your needs change between when you and summer begins.

Internship
Learn the nitty gritty of running a field station.
Learn how to feed and keep the field station usable.
Keep the grounds and trails nice, work to continue to re-prairie the area, and remove redcedar from canyons.

If you are taking classes or participating in research, you qualify for consideration in our CPWorks program. Our program covers your room and board during your class and/or research. It requires you to work 20-30 hours a week on average over the summer. While in a CPBS class, you would not work. While doing research, we require at least a 20 hour a week commitment and a partial funding or payment for at least $500 or half of time spent at CPBS. Have questions? Please list any and all time off you already have on your calendars including travel time to and from the CPBS campus from mid-May to mid-August. Any time you will NOT be able to work. This helps us plan and gives you priority during scheduling.
