Outreach

We are dedicated to the outreach of our local communities. We partner with both Keith County middle schools and EPSCoR to bring Nebraska children and young adults an exciting experience with the biological sciences in the field. We are collaborating with the Center of Civic Engagement to create an opportunity for college students this spring as well. There are plans to have a week of geologic study for a small group of Nebraska teachers as continuing education.

Field stations are the leading edge to confronting issues and unlocking the secrets of nature. We play a vital role in this process for our region and the world. We are happy to give former students, as well as groups, tours of the station and share our mission with them.

Check out this NET video featuring a class of teachers learning about earth science across Nebraska. This is Nebraska's course GEOL 160, intended for inservice K-12 science educators. Through about time mark 3:30 most of this is shot near CPBS or in the adjacent NGPC campground. This is the field based, experiential classroom that all CPBS courses are about.
