Lubber Lab was added the station in 1995. It was built with NSF support. The lab has four individual lab rooms and three large common use areas. There is a fume hood, water purification system, ultra-low freezer. In the garage below the lab are the stations boats which are available for courses or for research. The Boston Whaler has a capacity of 7 people, a 90 hp motor and can be used on either Lake McConaughy or Lake Ogallala. The John Boat will hold 4 people and is best suited to the calmer waters of Lake Ogallala. Just outside the lab are the stations twelve mesocosms.
