The Gainsforth Resource Center was named after the Gainsforth family whose support has made the station possible. The building was completed in 2002; it was built with funds from the NSF FSML program and UNL.

The design of the buildings fits in with the surrounding buildings on campus. It is home to one of our classrooms, computer lab, seminar room, offices, our library and the herbarium.

There is a long wooden deck with a spectacular view of the bluffs to the east and Lake Ogallala.
